MEET THE NEEDS
Interact is a Swedish International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) with international work in more than 30 countries together with 100 partner organisations. Our aim is to meet both social and spiritual needs through social welfare and community development. Our work is based on Christian values, and we believe that every human being has intrinsic value.
How we do it
HOLISTIC
The holistic view embraces care for all of creation, both the human beings and the environment, as well as practical contributions in culturally relevant ways.
COOPERATIVE
It is important for Interact to seek cooperation and mutual relations with national leaders and partner organisations. We therefore support education and training of leaders who are strategically located and well qualified for the job.
RECIPROCALLY
Our focus is reciprocity in all relationships and this has an impact on the way we think and work. We need openness to acknowledge each other’s gifts, resources and experience, so that we learn from our cooperating partners.
Who we are
Interact is a Swedish International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) working alongside 100 locally based organisations in more than 30 countries in four geographical regions: Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Our mission and work are based on Christian values. We believe that every human being has intrinsic value and is, therefore, capable of partaking in the creation or re-creation of a better future for themselves and their communities. Interact has a holistic approach with the goal of meeting the social, physical, and spiritual needs of life. We want to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and discriminated people in order to see societies transformed.
What we do
Interact works for a just and equal world together with local organisations in order to change unjust structures. We hold a right-based approach that works for every person’s rights by addressing the root and underlying causes of injustice and discrimination. Our projects are defined by prevention, empowerment, awareness-raising, and advocacy.
The work is funded by individual donors, private foundations, civil society organisations, and state funding.

Anti
Human
Trafficking
Human trafficking is the slavery of our time. More than 45 million people around the world are living as slaves. Children, women, and men are exploited daily in sex or labour trafficking both domestically and internationally. Interact works to prevent human trafficking by engaging men and empowering women to raise awareness and to hold responsible parties accountable.
Child Protective Services
In many countries in the world, children are considered the lowest in the hierarchy and few want to listen to them. Many children, therefore, lack rights to safety, protection, education, and healthcare. Together with our partner organisations, we work with child protective services on all levels of society. We believe that every child deserves a family, so we help families take responsibility for their own children or find new families for children in need.
Sustainable Livelihood
Many people around the world live in difficult conditions in which they constantly face such challenges as poverty, natural disasters, and little or no healthcare. Together with our partner organisations, we work to help such people attain self-sufficiency, learn how to handle the negative impacts of climate change, and to gain access to healthcare. Interact also works with income-generating projects in order to create sustainability in the daily lives of people.
